Safer Recruitment
ISB will ensure that it applies the highest standards in its recruitment and vetting policies across the organization. The ISB recruitment protocol will be followed in the appointment of all ISB employees and associates. All ISB employees who are responsible for recruitment and hiring will complete safer recruitment training.
Candidates are checked for their suitability for working with children and their understanding of child protection.
The Student Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct are provided to all applicants prior to an offer of employment.
Applicants for ISB positions (and current staff) agree in writing with the terms of this policy as part of the contracting process.
As per the ISB Student Safeguarding Policy, background checks are part of the hiring process for new employees and associates. Additional information about the background check process can be found below and in the appendix.
Evidence of identity and the authenticity of qualifications are checked before a contract is issued.

A minimum requirement of at least two references are carried out in all cases. Reference checks include a question about whether the referee has any concerns about the candidate’s suitability to work with children.
