Role of Student Safeguarding Committee & Safeguarding Advisory Committee
The Student Safeguarding Committee & Safeguarding Advisory Committee will consist of:
Director of Student Services (DSL)
Vice principals (one from each division)
Specific tasks include:
Identify and address student safeguarding concerns within the school
Ensure ISB is adhering to all guidelines in the Safeguarding manual
Ensure that ISB continues to meet certification criteria with the organization, Keeping Children Safe
Partner with divisional leadership to ensure ongoing development of comprehensive Safeguarding practices that support the entire community
Ensure that safeguarding practices are taught to students annually
Ensure annual professional learning is delivered for all staff and associates regarding student safeguarding practices and Code of Conduct.
Ensure/guide parent education to support understanding of the student safeguarding practices and the parent Code of Conduct
The Safeguarding Committee will meet monthly and the Advisory Committee at least twice annually.
