Student Safeguarding Committee
The Safeguarding Committee is responsible for overseeing and strengthening safeguarding practices across ISB. The committee identifies and addresses student safeguarding concerns, ensures alignment with the ISB Safeguarding Manual and certification standards, and supports ongoing education and professional learning for students, staff, and parents related to safeguarding practices and the Code of Conduct. The committee partners with divisional leadership to promote a comprehensive, schoolwide approach to student safety and wellbeing and to ensure ISB continues to meet certification criteria with the organization Keeping Children Safe. The Safeguarding Committee consists of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (the Director of Student Services), the Athletic Director, and a divisional Vice Principal (Dean of Students for MS/HS). The Committee meets every two weeks.
Key responsibilities include:
Identifying and addressing student safeguarding concerns
Ensuring compliance with the ISB Safeguarding Manual
Supporting certification requirements and ongoing review processes
Guiding annual safeguarding education for students
Ensuring annual safeguarding and Code of Conduct training for staff and associates
Supporting parent education related to safeguarding practices and the Parent Code of Conduct
Collaborating with school leadership to strengthen safeguarding systems and practices across the community
